Relaxation and Stress management group

If you have a cancer diagnosis, or you are supporting someone with cancer, this programme is for you.

This programme is designed to help people cope with the stress and anxiety that often accompanies a diagnosis and treatment for cancer. Over five weeks, you’ll learn different techniques to relax your body and mind.

Topics include:

  • Introduction to relaxation and breathing
  • Mindfulness
  • Visualisation and guided imagery
  • Guest speaker – Exercise and cancer
  • Managing worrying thoughts and self-care

Time: 10am – 11.30am, once a week for five weeks

Free Relaxation Practice

Are you feeling overwhelmed or finding it hard to cope with stress?

Come and practice some relaxation techniques with an experienced Cancer Society Psychologist.

There is a different focus each week, relaxation exercises include:

-         Deep Breathing

-         Mindfulness

-         Body scan/progressive muscle relaxation

-         Visualisation

 Day: Tuesday, weekly

Time: 12pm - 1pm
