Privacy Statement for Cancer Society Website

The personal information collected from the visitors of our website, including their identity, remains confidential. We respect the law(s) on confidentiality applicable to this website (New Zealand) and we will never pass on these data to any third party, unless required by law.

 

Privacy Statement for our fundraising platform Everydayhero 

We use the volunteer fundraising platform known as Everydayhero (‘EDH’), which is provided by Blackbaud, Inc. (‘Blackbaud’). When you provide us with information, such as your name, contact details, and other details relating to your engagement with us, either by entering that information onto the EDH website, or otherwise providing it to us, you acknowledge that we will use our system to collect, store, and use that information. If you do not provide us with this information we may be unable to engage with you.

Use

We will not use or disclose your personal information except when you have authorised us to do so, as provided in this privacy policy, or otherwise required or permitted by law, including in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.

The information you provide us and/or that we upload to our system on your behalf will be used by us to:

Disclosure

We may disclose your information to Blackbaud so that Blackbaud may provide us with support in using EDH.

Further, we may disclose your personal information to other divisions of the Cancer Society if necessary (for example, if you move and your new location is within another division).

Right to access and request correction

It is important to us that the information we hold about you is accurate, complete, and up to date. If you are aware that this is not the case, you can access, update, and review your information held by us by logging into EDH using your secure login details. Or if you would like us to correct your information please contact your local Cancer Society.  

Retention

We will hold any information we collect about you for as long as it is necessary for us to do so. If you terminate your engagement with us, we will retain information unless you request that we delete it from our system. Please submit requests to your local Cancer Society.  

Changes

We reserve the right to change our privacy statement from time to time by publishing the revised privacy statement in EDH. Please check this privacy statement regularly for modifications and updates. If you continue to use our system or if you provide any personal information after we make changes to this privacy statement, this constitutes your acceptance of those changes and the updated privacy statement.
